Are you using RO water or distilled water? If your using tap water then chances are you wont need it and if you do then only 1/8 - 1/4 the amount recommended MAX. If your using water with less then 100 ppm then yes, you want to add 1/4 -1/2 recommended.

High, you let your plant grow pretty tall already and the space between the nodes are pretty big aswell. For that reason I would keep the top 4 nodes and cut the 2 lowest nodes. After you cut the lowest 2 nodes bend the top branches down to let all the branches grow till an equal height so that they all recieve the same amount of light from your lamp and grow equally big.
