So, I've upped the nutrition according to the BioBizz schedule for their light mix soil. But a week behind on week 5 after the grow was disturbed during the veg phase. My friend has Blackberry Gum, also. We planted at the same time using the same substrate and feed. His setup has COB LED lighting and ventilation whereas mine doesn't yet (arriving very soon). The difference in them is that mine has shot up like Jack's magical beanstalk, while his is considerably shorter and has more prominent flowering. This leads me to believe that my setup is great for the veg stage but not so for flowering. Some drastic action needed this week to get the height down. A little LST, maybe FIMing the main stem, seeing as flowering is slow. We'll see. In the grow info above, see the Veg lighting for before, and Flo lighting for what will replace it this week. UPDATE: Week 6 day 3, the new grow light, bluetooth hygrometer and fans came today. They sent the wrong light, I ordered the Phlizon CREE COB 1000W but was sent a larger 1500W instead. It just about fits with space front and back for ventilation. I just hope it's not too much as my space is tiny. Gonna spend the next few days tweaking the setup, and experimenting with techniques of getting the humidity and temperature down. At night with the grow light off, the max temp is 29.44 degrees C and RH 55-60%. At this stage, I'm aiming for 20-26 degrees C with the light on during the day and RH 45-55%. It's fair to say that getting within this temperature range may prove a challenge. The one of the fans will breeze across the grow while the other could draw air out. I'll need to allow a decent enough intake of fresh air. Let's see what happens. Thank you for stopping by.

Following grower's advice, I chose not to top my autos. When buying the seeds initially, I tried to buy only strains that were said to grow up to medium height. Towards the end of week 5 and my Blackberry Gum is 90cm high. How can I slow this down without affecting yield? TIA

Oh I feel your pain... had EXACTLY the same thing happen to my Tangerine Dream grow... I actually thought about ripping the top of the tent off! What I DID do was as much LST as I could find to do... if the stems are pliable - and I stress PLIABLE - you can bend them down to at most a 90-degree angle ... hell, I think I even did some "Z" shaped LST on mine! If you're growing in fabric pots, take a LONG strip of some soft cloth, loop it over the stem you're trying to pull down and gently pull as much as you can - do it slowly so you can judge whether there's resistance there or not and stop when you feel serious resistance - and then pin or otherwise attach the strip to the pot. I bought some LST clips that I also used WAY up high and well away from the main branch because that's where the stems are going to be the woodiest and easiest to break... From there, I had to do a lot of defoliation to keep light on the underneath buds... Check out my diary if you want for some pics of what I had to do. I was growing 2 plants and ended up having to get a second tent so they could each have their own... it was wild... Good luck to you!

Interesting hanging method! Hadn't ever considered that but it makes a lot of sense! Nice grow!

@GrowingGrannie, Thank you. Space was always going to be an issue so I figured a vertical space was the best solution. These are my first grows from scratch and I'm not disappointed with it yet.

Hi everyone, thank you for visiting. I was Libricorn but now renamed to VertiGrow. I have changed the format in which I'll be recording my grows with detailed daily stats and comments listed each week. xx.x measures are placeholders to be updated as the week goes by. Thanks again. Happy growing! 🙂🌿
