Week 4 Veg Not much has changed nutrient wise and this bunch are still in their cups. Pheno's 1, 2 and 4 were topped at the 3rd node. I decided not to top #3 just yet, to give it a chance to catch up with the rest. Topping them not only creates two new tops, but it takes away most of the hormones that are more concentrated at the top of the plant (auxins). By doing this, the new growth lower down the plant at other node sites will have faster growth respectively. This will allow the lower side branches to grow tall enough to reach the top of the plant (or close to) and produces more of a bushy plant than a Christmas tree shape. This is the last full week I'll be keeping them in the cups, so they should really start to take off once they've got new shoes. The only reason I've kept them in those cups for this long is to keep them small with slower growth. Usually I'd transplant around day 20 but it's a crowded veg tent, with a little longer to go whilst we wait for another flowering plant to be harvested. Thanks for following and happy growing! 🐺
