This was a challenging week.
I transferred baby girl to a 5 gallon air pot with Fox Farm's Cultivation Nation (70/30 coco and perlite). It was recommended by other growers I know as a hassle-free, no-prep, coco medium I could use right out of the bag. I should have known it was too good to be true. My run-off EC after the transplant was over 1100 ppm. Geez. Baby girl did not like it at all! I fed her 1/2 strength solution (300 ppm) for two days and the EC finally dropped within a normal range.
Valuable lessons were reinforced this week: always question/investigate things that are too good to be true; what's good for others, ain't always good for you; and finally, CHECK THE EC OF FOX FARMS PRODUCTS BEFORE USING!
Anyway, I topped her after the 6th node and trimmed lower branches after she recovered. I start LST next week and will hopefully have a drama free week.
