Has anyone any relevant and useful knowledge in light schedule (ie. 12/12 or 6 on 6 off) manipulation, even if experimental data or personal experience?

The plants need 12 hours of UNINTERRUPTED darkness to flower, which means that something like 6/6 will not trigger flowering. What I've read about is something called extended light schedule: With a digital timer, you set lights for periods of 21:36 hours (21 hrs 36 mins) and lights off periods of 12 hours), this will give you an exact week that has 5 extended days (for a total of 33 hours 36 mins per "day"). The data I read states that the aditional light hours increases yield. Also important, going over 21 or 22 hours of light does nothing since there's a point where the added light reaches a saturation point and the plant can't use it. I havent tested it though

Don't plan on topping. Someone want to talk me into it? Just weigh out some pros and cons; and I'll pick the most informative and relevant answer, and maybe even change my mind. ๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿ‘

Hi there @Green_Friends_Inc! The apical meristem (top bud site) uses Auxin to restrict secondary buds sites from developing in a process called Apical dominance. This allows for higher amounts of hormones to be delivered to the leading bud sites compared to the side-shoots. This is why we Top our plants!! By removing/topping the apical budsite you are turning the the next two stems into apically dominant sites leading to a more even distribution in Bud growth a wider plants. Topping is all about distributing the hormones equally to more branches as apposed to the single Apical bud site! Its a very good technique to use when trying to maintain a shorter bulkier plant. I know you aren't topping this cycle, but perhaps I convinced you for the next one haha best of luck friend! ๐Ÿ˜Ž
