The only time this is needed is when the foliage is so thick that there is no air flow around the buds creating a risk of mold. Yours dont look dense enough for that to happen. You want to leave as many of those fan leaves as possible now because when they finish up flowering they are going to pull all of the nutrients out of those leaves in a last attempt to bulk the buds up.
