I'll keep the set up information going from week to week to hopefully reduce any questions about what is being used, and prevent people from having to scroll through the comments of every week to find what they may want to know.
Step Up Info:
Tent - 32"x32"x62" VIVOSUN mylar grow tent
Light - 75W Rapid LED with a CREE CXB3590 COB
Fans - AC Infinity CLOUDLINE S4 for exhaust, 2 Holmes 6" clip fans, one is towards the top shooting down, one is towards the lower-middle for circulation, 1 Honeywell 8" TurbroForce Air fan.
Pot - #3 black resin thermoformed pot with an actual capacity of 2.6 gallons
Medium - Fox Farm Ocean Forest mixed with more perlite
Day 8 - Things appear to be going well with removing the mold from the environment. Today was the second day of treatment with the white vinegar water mixture. The first day showed great results, I still saw some trace amounts lingering. Reapplied for a second day, and will have one more to go. Only after the three day treatment will more extreme measures be taken if nothing improves. I've added the extra fan for more airflow in and around the environment, hoping to increase the drying time of the soil and prevent a future mold issue. Time will be my judge.
Day 9 - I removed some soil from around the jiffy pot that had the constricted remnants of the mold problem. Even if the vinegar destroyed it, I don't want it hanging around unnecessarily. So I removed the pieces I could see. I also opened the jiffy pellet webbing up some before the 3rd and final (fingers crossed) application of vinegar and water. I'm also trying to hold out on letting the soil dry to almost 2 inches in depth before watering again. I still think this heatwave is what is causing problems, even if this is a new environment, the soil and plant aren't reacting the same as they did in the mylar lined cardboard box with similar conditions.
Day 10 - I don't see anymore signs of mold in or on the soil. I felt down, and I have between 1 and 1.5 inches of dry soil outside the fan leaves. I'm going to wait until tomorrow to give it more water as the soil should be ready by then for the next stage of watering. I don't want to give the mold anything to work with. Temps did better today, probably because of the A/C adjustment to compensate for the 105+ temperature outside.
Day 11 - Today the plant received some water, .25 gallons to be precise. I added some silica, cal-mag, and Mammoth P. Piece of advice on the Mammoth, don't buy that unless you know you really want to try it or have used it. Only reason I say that is the cost. Yes, you should look it up before buying it, but if you didn't, you may be shocked by the price depending on where you got it from. So just do your research. The 4th node is being pushed out now. Once we are on #5, or shortly there after, the LST training will begin.
Day 12 - The tips of node 5 are visible while node 4 is still pushing. Should be ready for LST by the middle of week three at the latest.
Day 13 - We have the first height update for this week. 4.5 inches tall and some leaves that are filling out nicely so far. I like what I'm seeing, and have no complaints, other than my mold issue in/on the soil. I'm still confident that is due to external environmental temperatures beyond my control without making the power bill unnecessarily high.
Day 14 - We have a good finish for week 2. 5th node is working it's way out. Laterals are forming nicely. Stalk is starting to harden and take shape. One of the most interesting things I noticed this week, was the twist in the stalk. If our previous grows did that, I can honestly say I failed at paying attention.
