Berry Bomb Auto Week 6
11/25
Did a tweaking of the LST wiring today and watered with flowering food. So excited to see the flowering stage unfolding, I’m so curious to see what happens over the next 2-3 weeks, depending on when the trichomes start to amber.
11/27
Did some research to see if continued LST in flowering stage is okay, and looks like it is since I started during veg. For some reason it seems like it’s not recommended to do if you’re starting in flowering though – I wonder if it has to do with horomone distribution disruption? Or maybe it’s not recommended due to the branches being thicker and firmer, and therefore less easy to manipulate without breaking?
Either way, since I’m doing what’s apparently called “continuous LST” – where I maintain the wiring throughout the veg and flower phases, it’s more than fine and now my intention to do so, except in maybe the last two days or so before chop.
Did a little adjustment to wiring and checked dirt – will water in another day or two.
11/28
Going to continue to alternate between bloom food waterings and cal/mag waterings – today I did a cal/mag watering. I probably should measure how much water I give them or keep to more of a regular feeding schedule, but honestly I just check the dirt for dampness to know when to water and I’ll water until about 10-15% of the water leaks out and isn’t quickly reabsorbed from the bottom of the pot. From there I do a quick ppm and ph check, then use an old towel to soak up the excess/wipe down the plate to keep it clean and my ppm checks accurate.
12/01 End of Week
Berry Bomb smells really delicious, I'm not gonna lie. It's like a sweet floral scent that I might not immediately think "berry", but if you told me that's what it's supposed to smell like I would say it makes sense lol. I keep sniffing it, and day by day it's getting stronger. I'm so freaking excited!
Following.
Just started a berry bomb grow and am not happy with the seeds I received. Yours seem to be doing well so I’ll continue to follow your comments and pics as reference.
Good luck towards the finish line.
@shawzy88, Honestly I kinda feel that as well. I can't speak to your seeds, but I was initially a little bummed to see mine were on the small side, and when I popped them it took longer for them to grow the taproot than I've encountered with the photoperiods I've done before or since. I've never done an auto before so I don't know if it's a trait that seems particular to this strain or to autos in general. I've seen others have way greater success with their BBA grows than me - for me I think I overdid it with the nutrients and/or just struggled to lock them in quite right and it ended up resulting in more popcorn-like buds than I thought. I will say that the reviews and info I found on the strain from other growers or the seed distributors about resin really packing on in the last two weeks or so has been incredibly true for me. Seems to get noticeably denser and frostier when I check in on her in the mornings. And sorry to info dump, but I found that she handles some light defoliation really well, and rather than slowing growth she seemed to perk up for it
Thanks for posting the finish line. I’ve been doing a lot of comparing to my BB as they were similar to start. You harvested in week 11 and looking at our plants I think I might be able to squeeze another week out of line. I also pruned a bit more.
This is my 3rd auto grow and I have learned a lot the first two. Hopefully you did as well! What’s next ?
@shawzy88,
I'll check out your progress too - i've got a few more seeds to pop from this strain in the future and it definitely helps to compare. Was able to get my hands on some sweet seed autos I'll be trying out - haven't decided which of the purples I ordered but i'll be trying to fill the tent up with them so I'll have a pretty good chance of getting at least a couple phenos with purple bud. I definitely could have gone another two weeks on mine, it was pure impatience and inexperience that had me hesitate and decide to chop when I did lmao. Good luck man!
