„DP Auto Duck“ F1 / Indoor Experiment

The plants developed good this week. Buds are forming nicely an they still stretched a lot. I almost need to tie them down every day because the grow too close to the light. I hope the stretching stops soon and the fattening begins. ❗️BAD NEWS ❗️ 2 of the remaining 3 plants are hermaphrodites. I chopped one down today because there was no development in buds but pollen sacks were very close to mature. I hope they did not affect the others. The 2 plants left show a nice bud structure and I try to remove as much male parts as possible to get them through flower stage without much pollination. For sure the quality of the buds will be far away from ideal but that’s why I call it an experiment. What did I learn so far: #1: seeds of original auto flower strains will bring up an completely different, photoperiodic strain #2: never use seeds of hermaphrodite plants because they will be hermis too #3: it was a nice way to experience training methods such as LST, super cropping, lolipopping and SCROG #4: learning to identify different genders in reality and getting more feeling for the plants, growth structure and how incredibly robust this plant is I learned it the “hard way” but to see it in a positive light: I gained a little more experience and knowledge Hopefully these hints will prevent other people from copying my mistakes 😅 Keep in touch !
