Hey team So we've had a bit of a heat this week for about 4 days. Just as they move into the tent, that get absolutely smashed by 38°C/100°F. I had the aircon on in the garage, which is where the tent is, but that could only bring the temp down to 32°C/90°F while the lights were on. It wasn't just hot either, it was super dry! The humidifier was set to 80RH to keep the VPD down, and they were looking okay, but then my oscillator fan died! I went to my local hydro shop, and they were sold out, so ended up getting a floor fan that can angel up. Its a fair bit more powerful than the last fan I had, but pointing at a corner of my 3x3 tent, I think it has better circulation than the oscillator. They do look like they suffered a bit over those 4 days, but all things considered, they're doing well. I gave them another water last night, and a little spray of some dr zymes. It was a tough week for these little ones, with the heat wave, and some human error, growth has been sma little slow. I bought an IR thermometer so I could get proper readings for figuring out VPD. I found my leaf surface temperature was consistently higher than my ambiant room temperature. After a bit of research into what was causing this, I turned my lights down to 65% and the problem was sorted. I didn't realise I'd been overdoing it on the lights. Since making this change, there's been a noticeable increase in growth rate, and they're looking a lot better than they were. Seeing them happy makes me so happy. I swear it's as good as having pet, watching, and caring for these plants.

Currently my lights are on a 18/6 schedule, from 6am, until 12am. I want to change their light cycle to start at 4pm and turn off at 10am, so the heat of the light balances the chill of the night. Whats the best way to do this, without triggering flowering, or stressing them.

What I would probably do is turn the lights on for 24hrs for a few days . Then switch the lights to the 4 to 10 cycle . That's just what I would do I'm sure others with more experience will know better. I don't think you will trigger flowering as they require at least 12hrs of darkness. Except autos of course.
