Granddaddy Purple Bag Seed

11/03- Decided that today was going to be the day for defoliation! Sat down and stripped all the inner growth up to the last 4-5 (in some cases 2-3) layers of growth per branch and took a few fan leaves off the top to let more light in. Ended up striping a bit more than I thought I would and the girls are looking pretty bare so far. Im keeping my fingers crossed that I didn't take too much, last time I defoliated they bounced back within the week but that was during veg so I'm hoping that they fill back out a little. The goal of defoliating at this point was to allow the plant to put all of its energy and nutrients into the production of big heavy coals on each branch instead of wasting it on some smaller popcorn buds. I also am hoping to keep some of the vegetation out of the way that was blocking light and get the most light saturation possible, especially since they are a little big for the space and I didn't top them so I'm struggling to get the light to fully cover the plants. After defoliation I fed #1 with some FFBigBloom and got her on her first round of bloom nutes. Going to keep a close eye on them this week to see how they respond to the defoliation and how they bounce back. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 11/04- Checked on them really quick before work this morning, they seem to be doing alright after the defoliation. Still looking pretty bare but it looks like they still have enough vegetation to still generate enough energy to bounce back and finish strong. They are definitely getting more light now than they were. Im also really starting to notice the bud sites starting to produce a lot of hairs, excited to start seeing little buds forming hopefully this week!!
